Well, this Thursday seems to be a little more bearable than most Thursdays... perhaps it has something to do with the hoard of birthday cards I had to open this morning :-D
Good to hear there is light at the end of the treatment tunnel too.
Top tips for rads: SMOTHER the cream on, rest lots and where possible go braless.
Tamoxifen - tiny white tablet but must be FULL of calories and small bonfires cos I have lost my waistline somewhere in the last year and I get so hot at night...
But - if it's doing us some good it must be worth it :)
On 7th November 06 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I have set up this site for my friends and family to see how I am getting along with all this surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy stuff.
....and now
...and 7 years on

CHARITY FUNDRAISING TOTAL
My Husband ran the 2009 London Marathon to raise funds for my favorite charity, Breast Cancer Care. You can follow his running blog at www.jwild.co.uk/london2009. Marathon sponsorship and cake baking brought in a total of £3962.72.
Why Breast Cancer Care?
Breast Cancer Care provides information and support to anyone affected by breast cancer. During my treatment I relied heavily on them for support, especially as a younger women.
Just £5 allows one girl (or boy) just like me to access the internet forums and support groups.
want to know more... read about where your money goes on my blog post....... here.
My Diagnosis
I had a 16mm (small) grade 3 invasive tumour in my right breast.
I have had a successful lumpectomy and a "sentinel node biopsy". It had'nt spread to the lymph nodes under my armpit so I didn't need a second operation.
Then I will need 24 weeks of chemotherapy in the New Year to mop up any cells that may have escaped to my body.
After that I will have local radiotherapy to destroy any remaining cancer cells in the breast or armpit.
I couldn't go cold turkey from my graphs, so I've devised one to accompany the radiotherapy and record how the "sunburn" goes. The cooking continues for 10-14 days afterwards so I've made the graph nice and long
Poo-o-Meter
Now lets try Taxol..... yellow and black indicates toxic drug days
Pants-o-Gram
So here's how I am feeling on taxotere.
Cack-o-Graph
I have decided to keep a record of how I am feeling over the EC chemo cycles. My score of 10 is the same as my pre-chemo normal energy Dawn day, spot the scientist :)
